eGold & BrassTacks
eGold is a private initiative, completely independent of the BrassTacks Think Tank run by Zaid Hamid.
Neither Zaid Hamid, nor BrassTacks, own any shares, interest or partnership in eGold.
The only relationship that exists between us is a common commitment to the ideology of Pakistan, and a passion
to serve this nation. Zaid Hamid Sahib does this by way of enlightening the people on matters of geo-strategic
importance, educating them on the pristine principles of Allamah Iqbal's message and Pakistan ideology, as well
as providing a singularly unique and charismatic beacon of hope and guidance to the youth of this nation,
which is all the more urgent in these difficult times on the nation
The founders of eGold hold Zaid Hamid sahib in very high regard, and consider him their personal mentor, guide
and paragon. It is through the teachings of Zaid Hamid, and his ground-breaking promulgation of the
Islamic economic system as a gold-backed, full-reserve, interest-free economic model, that we found the
inspiration and will to launch this initiative.
According to the vision of Zaid Sahib, true change does not come through violent revolutions, but by a
gradual and managed transition towards an improved system. In this light, we envision true Islamic financial
products, and institutions, to gradually come forth from within the existing system, and start providing
fully Shariah compliant, sound financial services. eGold, as one such upcoming institution, envisions to compete
with other financial services companies in the open market, and differentiate itself by offering solutions
that correspond fully to the requirements of the Islamic model as interpreted by Zaid Hamid.
We do not wish to pass judgements on existing banks and financial institutions on whether they are truly Islamic
or not. Many of these institutions are doing excellent work, and are guided by a righteous spirit. However, we
leave it upon our customers and visitors, to compare how we are different from them, and decide for themselves,
which system makes the most sense to them.
